Official Sassafras update as of Wednesday, March 4, 2015
She has 4 new nodules in her spleen. Test results show they are likely sarcoma and with her history more than likely hemangiosarcoma. This is an aggressive and deadly cancer - we were lucky when we were able to remove her first hemangiosarcoma and the kidney it was attached to. Removing her spleen and trying a new chemo will not cure this disease and Sassafras is currently happy, eating well and living large! I'd hate to make her last months full of chemo appts and healing from another surgery. We've come a long way since her initial diagnosis in July 2014. We are entering this new journey with heavy hearts but the motto to#makeeverydaycount. #teamsassafras
